Although a prominent politician in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim (Likta) has urged the government to listen to the DCT teachers’ demands and work towards a resolution, but he emphasized the need for consideration for the children affected by the strike, calling on the FCT chairmen and Minister Nyesom Wike of the FCT to join forces to address the issue.

He addressed journalists recently in his office in Abuja over the weekend.

He also spoke on the need for the FCT aborigines to be included in the North Central Development Commission (NCDC). To that effect, he expressed his opposition to the exclusion of FCT aborigines from the NCDC, advocating for equity and representation. He stressed that using someone from another state, such as Benue, to represent the FCT is unacceptable.

On his support and stepping down as a championship aspirant for the incumbent Executive Chairman of the AMAC, he reiterated his decision to step down in favour of incumbent AMAC Chairman to party unity and interests. He directed his supporters to join Maikalangu’s movement, ensuring a strong foundation for his re-election bid.

Likita expressed confidence that Maikalangu will deliver more dividends of democracy to the people, including road construction in Idu, his community.

While addressing political leaders in the FCT, he praised the All Progressives Congress FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s performance, noting that the senators’ overwhelming support is a testament to his effectiveness. He also compared the performance of some political leaders, stating that Chinedu Obika is doing better than Senator Ireti Kingibe.
