... As Organization sustains succour to humanity
The Nigerian Army (NA) has assured Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) of its continuous support in pursuit of the realization of the organization’s mandate to bring succour to humanity.
According to a statement by Brigadier General, Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director Army Public Relations, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja gave the assurance today Monday 11 September 2023, when he received the National President NAOWA, Mrs Mariya Lagbaja and NAOWA Exco members at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.
The COAS expressed gratitude to the National leadership and members of NAOWA for their visit, noting that their countless humanitarian engagements have impacted positively on the lives of many less privileged persons in the barracks, host communities and the society in general. The COAS extolled the significant contributions of NAOWA through various developmental initiatives within the Barracks and the host communities.
The Army Chief noted, that the association has become a symbol of peace, unity  and service to the barracks community in providing support to its members, empowerment of soldiers wives and their families, host communities, as well as the larger society.
While commending the women organization for keeping the home front, as their spouses engage in service to the nation, the Army Chief enjoined them to sustain their services to humanity and assured that the NA will continue to intervene and support the humanitarian activities of the organization.
The President NAOWA, Mrs Mariya Lagbaja earlier disclosed that members of the association were at the Army Headquarters to appreciate the NA for being her major supporter and to consolidate on the already existing relationship between NAOWA and the NA.
Highlighting her vision, the President NAOWA stressed that the association is driven by compassion and commitment to the well-being of the barracks as well as host communities and have executed numerous  initiatives over the years to enhance the living standards of her members,  members of the Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives Association (NASWA), the host communities and the less privileged. She noted that the association supported widows, orphans and other less privileged within and outside the barracks community.
The President also assured of their continuous loyalty and support through prayers and keeping the home front safe for their spouses, as they continue to  diligently serve the nation.
