The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has officially launched its Self-Service Modification Portal, allowing Nigerians to securely update their National Identification Number (NIN) details online.
This initiative aims to enhance data security and provide a convenient alternative to visiting enrollment centers.
Secure Online Modifications
NIMC emphasizes that modifications to NIN data can only be performed on their official portal: selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng. Users are strongly advised against using unauthorized websites, as these may jeopardize personal information and increase the risk of identity theft.
By utilizing the official portal, users can ensure their data remains protected while enjoying the flexibility of making updates from anywhere at any time.
Convenience and Efficiency

The introduction of this self-service portal eliminates the long queues typically associated with in-person modifications at NIMC offices.
Users can modify essential details such as their name, date of birth, and address quickly and efficiently. This system not only speeds up processing times but also enhances overall user experience by making the modification process straightforward.
How to Use the Portal
To modify their details, users must first verify their NIN and log into the portal. They will then select the information they wish to change, upload necessary documents, and submit their requests. The process is designed to be user-friendly, ensuring that modifications can be completed with ease.
For further inquiries or assistance, individuals can visit the NIMC website at www.nimc.gov.ng, contact customer care via email at [email protected], or call 070022556462.
Conclusion
With this new self-service modification portal, NIMC is committed to improving the management of national identity data while prioritizing user security and convenience. Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, encourages all Nigerians to utilize this secure platform for their NIN modification needs.
