NUJ FCT Council Commiserates With FRCN Over Death of Journalist, Gwamkat Gwamzhi

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Headquarters, Gwamkat Gwamzhi.

In a statement signed by Comrade Jide Oyekunle,NUJ FCT Council Secretary, the Council describes the death of the respected broadcaster and media professional as a painful loss to the journalism profession, the FRCN family, and the nation at large.

In a statement, signed by the Secretary of the Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle said the late Gwamzhi was a dedicated journalist who contributed immensely to the growth of broadcasting and public information in Nigeria through her years of committed service at FRCN.

Gwamzhi was known for her professionalism, humility, and unwavering commitment to ethical journalism, and her death has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

The Council commiserates with the management and staff of FRCN Headquarters, FRCN NUJ Chapel, the immediate family of the deceased, friends, and professional colleagues over the unfortunate loss.

The NUJ FCT Council prays that God grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and gives her loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
