Two female students of Kwara State Polytechnic are facing murder and robbery allegations by Police authority over the death of Mr. Adeniyi Ojo, the son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, a prominent figure in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The suspects, Joseph Joy Adanma and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa Favour were alleged to have “tied the deceased under the guise of having a sex rump and demanded money from him.”
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi who paraded the suspects among several others, at the STS Headquarters, Abuja on Wednesday assured that, the Police will continue to “work tirelessly, relentlessly pursuing wrongdoers, and ensuring a safer Nigeria.”
According to him, “On the 6th of October 2023, police operatives apprehended two suspects, Joseph Joy Adanma and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa Favour who are both students of Kwara State Polytechnic and are facing grave allegations for their involvement in a horrific crime, the robbery and murder of Mr. Adeniyi Ojo, the son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, a prominent figure in Ilorin, Kwara State.
“Through meticulous investigative work, our officers were able to track and apprehend these suspects in Mowe Ibafo, Ogun State. In a tragic incident, the duo tied the deceased under the guise of having a sex rump and demanded money from him.
“But when he was not forthcoming, they resorted to drugging and suffocating him, leading to his untimely demise. They have been processed and will be charged to court shortly.”
Meanwhile, the suspects in their interview with newsmen confessed carrying out the act, but however stated that it was not their intention to kill him.
According to them, their initial plan was just to frighten, rub him and go, saying he had initially planned to have sex with them in his car but later changed his mind and took them to a hotel.
They also stated that, the victim allowed them to tie his hands and legs with a view of having a sex rump with the two of them in the hotel room, but later became suspicious of their intention when they wanted to do a video recording of him.
“It was at this point he started struggling with us and shouting. We then placed a pillow on his mouth to stop him from shouting. It was in this process he passed out. But we thought he was just pretending.”
The suspects, however regretted their actions, while advising young ladies to be patient and work hard to earn legitimate money.
The Force Spokesperson, ACP Adejobi further stressed that, several significant Police operations were conducted by the Department of Force Intelligence Tactical Teams – DFI-IRT and DFI-STS.
These operations, he said  have led to the arrest of dangerous criminals involved in various heinous crimes and recoveries of illicit arms and ammunition.

“A very notable case among the lots is the arrest of Abubakar Abdulkardil (37 years old) and Adamu Musa (47 years old) on the 9th of June, 2023, at approximately 10:45 AM in Taraba State. This operation was executed by a team of IRT operatives.
“These suspects, hail from Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State are notorious criminals with a long history of heinous activities. They were linked to multiple cases of killings, banditry, cattle rustling, and kidnapping, particularly within the Gassol LGA.”
