Rivers State Government has denied appointing Mr Samuel Nwanosike, a staunch supporter of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, as the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA.

This followed a statement allegedly signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika, stated that the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd), had approved the appointment of Samuel Nwanosike as the Sole Administrator of state waste management agency with effect from April 11th, 2025.

However, the state’s Sole Administrator, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika on Saturday, however cautioned residents of the state to be wary of false information purveyors who intend to misinform the people.

Recall that a similar news circulated on social media two days ago that the Sole Administrator has begun moves to recruit 10,000 workers in the state, same was refuted by the state government.

After refuting the appointment of Samuel Nwanosike, Ibas urged everyone to disregard the unfounded speculations and rely on official Government sources for accurate information.

He said, “We wish to categorically inform the good people of Rivers State and the general public to ignore the fake announcements”, he emphasized.

“Be informed that all official communications from the Office of the Administrator of Rivers State have appropriate channels through which they are circulated, pay attention to such channels.”

He added that the government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a peaceful, prosperous and united state.
