Scores Trapped As Four Storey Building Collapse In Abuja

A four storey building under construction has collapsed at Dape near  Life Camp in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja with many feared trapped under its rubbles.

Only two persons have been rescued while many people are still trapped under the rubbles.

The building which is meant for hotel accommodation was under construction collapsed at about 4:00pm while the casting work was going on leaving many trapped.

Though the number of those trapped could not be independently ascertained.at the time of this report.

The building was said to have gave way shortly after the engineer left the site.

Rescue operations are being carried out by a combined team of the FCT Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency, ( NEMA ) and Nigerian Police.

The FCT Commissioner of police, G.G Haruna was also on ground.. He said his men were there to protect lives and properties.
