In a statement, Barrister Princess Oby Onu, National Coordinator of Women Arise 4 Tinubu, has commended President Bola Tinubu for constituting the board members of the Southeast Development Commission (SEDC). Princess Onu praised the President for signing the bill into law and subsequently setting up a competent team to lead the commission.

According to Princess Onu, the SEDC will usher in unprecedented growth and economic revival in the Southeast region. She noted that the commission will address the region’s infrastructure deficit, which has been exacerbated by the civil war and the ongoing agitation for secession by IPOB.

Furthermore, Princess Onu applauded President Tinubu’s promise to complete the Enugu-Maiduguri railway project. She believes that the completion of this project will have a significant impact on the region’s economy, leading to spontaneous growth and development.

The Southeast Development Commission is expected to play a crucial role in driving economic growth and development in the region. With the constitution of its board members, the commission is now set to begin its work in earnest.
