The Woman Leader, Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANT), Dr. (Mrs) Rachael Adewumi has explained why she has been urging all hands to be on deck to ensure that the good plans of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are achievable and realizable to the benefit of Nigerians. The Woman Leader also explained why she has been hailing the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for performance.

Adewumi made the explanations in his Easter message to his members and Nigerians in general.

Sending her message across, Adewumi defended fuel subsidy removal, by explaining that at its beginning, the masses will feel it, adding that, at the long run, it will go a long way to address the economy to the benefit of Nigerians. She even reminded Nigerians that renowned economists warned against the continued subsidizing the prices of petroleum products in Nigeria.

Hailing the legislators of the National Assembly for quality legislations, and calling for their support, she urged them to ensure that the tax reform bills come to pass, which if done according to her will go a long way..

On why she has been commending Wike for performance, she said that since his assumption as the Minister of the FCT, Wike hasn’t only been constructing roads and other infrastructures, but also strictly doing them in line with FCT master plans. While hailing him for effective performance, Chief Rachael Adewumi however appealed to him to build more markers in the FCT and ensure that sheds there – in sre allocated to real traders, instead of allocating them to non traders, who will in turn rent them to the traders at a high rate.

While attributing high cost of goods in the market to the rent traders pay to the original owners of the sheds in the market, who are not traders, Dr

While reiterating the importance of supporting the government in power, the woman leader however advised his members to avoid selling their products and wares at unimaginable profit, adding that with the avoidance of the system, their customers will not only continue to patronize them, but also make them to be selling in large quantities, which in turn, according to her will result into profit maximization. She also added that their customers will be afforded the opportunity to buy the those goods.

Adewumi further advised her members to use the Easter celebration to come closer to God, adhere to the law, and also cut their coats according to the sizes. These, he said would go a long way to enable them continue their businesses after the celebration.

On his reason for supporting Wike, Amb. Rachael Adewumi said since his assumption as the FCT Minister, all the roads and other infrastructures in the nation’s capital are not only being developed and commissioned, but also in line with the FCT master plan. This he said is visible all over the FCT.

The Woman Leader, therefore appealed to the Minister to build more markers in the FCT. These markets, if built, according to her should be given to the real traders, instead of the non traders, who will in turn rent them to the real traders at unaffordable rent. Attributing high cost of goods in the nation’s capital to high rent traders pay for shops in the market, Dr Rachael Adewumi believes that with shops given to the real traders at the government affordable rates, the high rent usually added to cost of goods will be a thing of the past and prices of goods will come down.

Finally, she called on Nigerians to support those in authority and equally urged the government to always carry traders a long, saying that they are the heart beat of the nation.
