Three siblings, Gideon, Divine, and Israel, who were abducted from Ama Ime in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State on May 10, 2024, have been safely reunited with their family.

Governor Alex Otti welcomed them at his residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

Their rescue was a coordinated effort by security agencies, with significant involvement from the Abia State government, which led to their recovery in Anambra and Delta states.

During the reception, Governor Otti expressed gratitude to God and praised everyone involved in the rescue mission.

He also emphasized the importance of vigilance in ensuring children’s safety and called on the security operatives to ensure that those responsible for the kidnapping are prosecuted to deter future incidents.

Governor Otti assured the community of his administration’s support for the rescued children. He highlighted his ongoing engagement with the Nigerian Armed Forces to maintain robust security in Abia and bolster economic activities.

“I have made it clear to criminals that they have no place in Abia,” Otti declared. “One of us must leave, and it won’t be me, as I have the mandate of the people and God. The criminals will be the ones to flee, even before being pursued.”

Osinachi Nwaka, Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, detailed the rescue operations, revealing that the mission unfolded in three stages, with him personally leading the first operation in Ekwulobia, Anambra State.
