A group, Old Bende Political Forum, has lauded Dr Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, for driving President BolaTinubu’s re-election campaign in Abia.

Dr Philips Nto

The group in statement signed by the Chairman, Mr John Okafor,, noted that Kalu and other stalwarts of the All Progressive Congress (APC) had done great work to guarantee Tinubu’s victory in the state.

It declared that APC does not need the support of Gov. Alex Otti to win the state for Tinubu.

The group described Kalu as the leader with the midas touch who has worked tirelessly for the APC across the state in general and Old Bende in particular.

It commended Kalu for attracting the post of APC South East Youth Leader to Abia and for nominating a grounded youth leader, Mr Chimamkpam Ogbonnaya, for the position.

The group, however, endorsed a former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Philips Nto to contest the Abia North Senate seat in 2027.

According to the statement, Nto possesses the pedigree to drive the change much needed for the accelerated transformation of the area through legislation and constituency projects.

The group regretted that the Abia North Senate seat had not attracted quality leadership much needed to offer constructive representation to the people.

It noted that given the academic and leadership trajectory of Nto, he would command the respect of senators from all parts of Nigeria and exude fitness for any national assignments.

The forum assured Nto, who was a former Provost of Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu, of the support of its teeming members to ensure that he becomes the next Senator for Abia North.
